What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is the principle strength and conditioning for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We've used the same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don't change programs.

CFMG Athlete Updates

I always saw myself as fit. I “worked out” and thought that I was getting by just fine doing my regular exercise regimen—that was until I found CrossFit. CrossFit has changed the preconceived ideas I had for describing fitness, and what I needed to do to really be fit. Everyone has noticed changes in me since I have started coming to CrossFit Mission Gorge. I’ve lost over thirty pounds. And while I’ve slimmed down immensely; my strength has increased, as well as my energy to attack whatever challenges life throws at me in or out of the walls of the gym.

I’ve come to the realization that CrossFit is for me an addictive activity. My day just doesn’t seem normal or as easy to tackle if for some reason I cannot make it in for a workout. I’ve also found myself doing my own W.O.D. on Sundays. I’m energized to do things that normally would have been seen as a burden to me before like going on hikes or runs.

Since I started coming in March, my words cannot truly express how much better I have felt about myself mentally and physically. I find it simply amazing that in such a small amount of time my body and spirit have undergone changes that will prolong my life, and have helped me feel, look and perform my job better. I feel that CrossFit has made me an even better father, husband, and Sailor. Others have seen the changes in me as well, and everyone asks what I’ve been doing differently? And I can only respond with one word “CrossFit.”
